Waikawa for Beginners

Thursday 7th November - Thursday 28th November 10am - 1pm

Come along and learn to weave your very own Waikawa Basket. The perfect sustainable Christmas or Kai Basket.

Tutor Poto Morgan will guide you through the process from Harvesting Harakeke to completion of basket including different weave and finishing techniques.

All Materials* included.

  Tools are available to use but you can bring your own if you have them.   

*Bring a plate for a shared Kai

This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of students. You must attend 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
