Kaumatua Creatives - Crafting Together Term 2 2025

Welcome to Term 2 2025 of Kaumatua Creative - Crafting Together for those aged 55 and over.
This weekly class is open to our local Kaumatua aged 55 and over. We work on collaborative and individual crafting projects.
Did you know that flexing our creative muscles helps us thrive as we age? Ongoing research suggests that participating in the arts may improve the health, well-being and independence of people as they age.
This 2-hour, weekly class is designed to promote self-expression, enhance mental health, provide an opportunity to socialise, stimulate your brain and unlock hidden talents. All whilst having fun in a warm and safe environment.
This term we will be exploring Air Dry Clay, Textiles and Sculptures inspired by Matariki.
Course cost is $50 includes all materials.
This course is supported by the TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to assist with literacy and numeracy needs of students. You must attend at least 80% of the class. At the same time we hope you will learn other useful and interesting skills and have a lot of fun learning with us.
