Contemporary Dance Taster Programme (Ages 10, 11 & 12)
This four-week taster programme is designed to support tamariki aged 10–12 in developing dance skills, building confidence, and expressing themselves creatively in a fun and structured environment.
Participants will:
- Move and be physically active
- Socialise with peers in a supportive, creative setting
- Develop musical rhythm and counting skills
- Gain confidence and feel empowered through movement
- Strengthen listening and memory retention skills
- Follow tutor instructions and perform with increasing independence
- Build dance foundations including proprioception, spatial awareness, kinetic movement, coordination, strength, and flexibility
Dates & Time:
- Tuesdays: 15 July – 5 August
- 5:15pm – 6:00pm
No previous dance experience is required – just a willingness to explore, learn, and have fun.
Please note this class is a drop off class and we ask for all parents to leave the classroom while the class is on. You are more than welcome to speak to the tutor prior to the class start date.
