Contemporary Dance Taster Programme (Ages 13–16)
This four-week taster programme is designed to energise, empower, and creatively challenge rangatahi aged 13–16. Dancers will explore musicality, technical movement, and creative expression in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Participants will:

• Move and be physically active
• Socialise with peers in a structured creative setting
• Develop strong musical rhythm and counting skills
• Gain confidence and feel empowered through dance
• Strengthen listening and memory retention
• Follow tutor instructions and perform with growing independence
• Build dance technique including proprioception, spatial awareness, coordination, strength, and flexibility

Programme Structure:

• Week 1 (15 July): Warm-ups, basic technical movements, and a creative task
• Week 2 (22 July): Warm-up, practise movements from Week 1, add a creative task
• Week 3 (29 July): Warm-up, build a routine from learned movements, include creative elements
• Week 4 (5 August): Warm-up, rehearse and perform the routine

Time: 6:15pm – 7:00pm

Please note this class is a drop off class and we ask for all parents to leave the classroom while the class is on. You are more than welcome to speak to the tutor prior to the class start date.
