About the Workshop:
Join acclaimed NZ fashion designer Jeanine Clarkin for a hands-on, creative experience blending sustainable fashion with Māori design. In this workshop, you’ll learn practical techniques to breathe new life into pre-loved clothing, including:
- Fabric printmaking – Explore simple but striking methods to create unique patterns.
- Patchwork & appliqué – Sew and adorn garments with bold, Māori-inspired designs.
- Sustainable fashion principles – Discover how upcycling reduces waste and honours resources.
Jeanine will share insights from her career, including how she intertwines Māori narratives, cultural motifs, and eco-conscious practices into contemporary fashion.
